Treasures provides intermediate students with engaging literature, an emphasis on nonfiction and a strong focus on comprehension, vocabulary and fluency…helping students to be successful readers and test-takers. Treasures also offers phonics, spelling, grammar and writing integrated into all differentiated reading and instructional materials to help make learning meaningful.

Fifth grade Math Trailblazers includes lots of problem solving, graphing, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, area, geometry, and group work. Our Reading program is Treasures. Text based and theme based writing prompts, with a required organized five paragraph plan, are expected in writing class. During Science, students explore: Mixtures and Solutions; Motion and Design; Ecosystems; and some Astrology. We study the Constitution through the 20th Century in Social Studies. Our students grasp much knowledge in fifth grade to secure their educational background and are ready to "test the waters" in middle school by the end of the year.
